Nine heroes stepped forward to see who'd face my sword Ajax drew the shortest lot to fight Fought from the dawn 'til dusk and neither one could win My song the muses will recite Why have the gods forsaken me You must fight for your family Apollo, I reject thee Go, fight, slay, Hector! Kill the Greeks False hero falls and then a lion takes his stead My countrymen flee and leave me to face my death Brave hero separates my body from my soul Though I have died I won't be alone Why have the gods forsaken me You must fight for your family Apollo, I reject thee Go, fight, slay, Hector! Kill the Greeks And my city and my family I'll see you in Hades Think of thine father and his helpless face behold Seeing him in me as helpless and old Suppliant my children's murderer to implore And kiss these hands yet reeking with their gore

The most beautiful one You chose a life on the run Now your city will be buried Your judgement is to blame At last, love's found me I'm trapped this can never be My love is unrequited I've got a one-way ticket To Hell if I even pretend to take a chance But then again she's worth it And I could make this work and Then we could run away and live hand in hand Alas, she's taken Perhaps the Fates were mistaken My love is unrequited I've got a one-way ticket To Hell if I even pretend to take a chance But then again she's worth it And I could make this work and Then we could run away and live hand in hand This love is mine That's by design Can't help what fate decides I'll raise my voice I'll make the choice My wish you can't deny My love is unrequited I've got a one-way ticket To Hell if I even pretend to take a chance But then again she's worth it And I could make this work and Then we could run away and live hand in hand Take a chance, if you can, if you give a shit You adore her, we implore that you act on it Go by night, there's no sight, then you'll make your move There's the door, start the war that your city will lose

Blessed in birth What is life without glory To those in heaven and on earth None can replicate these stories Should a man live anonymously Sparing each breath, what is life without glory For songs are sung posthumously Feigning life that is of most men's stories Oh goddess Sing to me Of the wrath of almighty Achilles If I should die young in age Then I say to the gods that they'll forever sing my name Brother, forgive me For 10 years I abandoned (For) my pride, my obsessions Your peace, the key to my heart Should a man live anonymously Sparing each breath, what is life without glory Drops in the flood spur the savagery And he'll rue the day that he took you from me Oh goddess Sing to me Of the wrath of almighty Achilles If I should die young in age Then I say to the gods that they'll forever sing my name Bringing dishonor to the fallen What can they do to stop Achilles What's this, a prick, and the pain starts fading Darkness encroaching in Elysium Now I shall reign We'll meet again

Serpent, freed of winter's lethargy Morality be damned These fools in drunken revelry Vos In tenebras mittam Leave no man alive My father's death we will avenge 50 souls will pay the price And your corpse gets torn off from your head Heed the words of the devoured And the signs from above That your family will burn With all that you love, so Save what you can Flee familiar shores And through mother guidance Live a few years more My brothers and sisters gone Taken by their self-immolation Grief stricken, I shall move on To my family grant them salvation Goodbye to love For our sake, I'll move on No olive branch, nor dove To save our city's mutilation Heed the words of the devoured And the signs from above That your family will burn With all that you love, so Save what you can Flee familiar shores And through mother guidance Live a few years more Thine savage anger may I borrow And piety briefly may I revoke Beauty the cause of all my sorrows Now let me slit your throat Though beauty lives My city burns Though beauty lives Mercy's unreturned Burn Fuck You

We've breached the walls and taken the city Guts and limbs scattered around We raid their homes to reclaim Helen Then burned it down A fallen friend warns me Of danger that surrounds Troy's fallen, the city burns Now brace yourselves, to Hell we're bound And in the end we both take to sea One shall return while the other must leave Don't fear the monsters you see Now take up your swords and fight with me This journey will test the strength of my heart They told me we'd never make it this far I sing of arms and the man Whose presence will forever change this land I heard the sirens distant They beckoned, calling me to follow their sound We faced Scylla and Charybdis All of our ships were drowned We were cursed by the harpies To starve until we've reached New shores, abandoned love's silenced heartbeat Precedes more gore And in the end we both take to sea One shall return while the other must leave Don't fear the monsters you see Now take up your swords and fight with me This journey will test the strength of my heart They told me we'd never make it this far I sing of arms and the man Whose presence will forever change this land Love is lost, abandoned now Nothing will keep me away We'll meet down below, heads bowed From the place my family lays Fight with me son of a brother No man, nor nymph, nor monster Hubris consumes, your head is lost to another Will keep me from you any longer This odyssey has taken us so far Family I thought was lost, behind me once more This odyssey has taken us so far Family I thought was lost, behind me once more This odyssey has taken us so far Family I thought was lost, behind me once more I can't forgive the death of Pallas Close your eyes Turnus, and slip into the shadows

about

This is Forever Mortal's debut EP and it's about the Trojan War (Illiad, Odyssey, and Aeneid). Zohaib and Chris wrote these songs back in 2014 when they attended NYU because they were a bunch of classics nerds who wanted to make a concept album. Who would've thought that after so many years these five songs would actually end up being recorded and distributed? Crazy.
